Your privacy is critically important to us. At Defterix, we have a few fundamental principles:

1. Your Data is Yours

Defterix is an offline-first application. All your financial data, loans, and names are stored locally on your device. We do not have any database, and we do not collect or sell your personal data.

2. Device Backups

Your loan data is never transmitted to us, and we operate no server that could receive it. Your device's own backup system does include it, so that your records survive if you lose your phone or move to a new one. On Android, Defterix data is part of Android Auto Backup, which copies it to your personal Google Drive; on Android 9 and later that backup is encrypted on your device with a key derived from your screen lock, so Google cannot read it. On iOS, app data is included in your personal iCloud or computer backups when you have those enabled. These backups belong to you and to your device account, not to us, and we have no access to them. You can turn backups off at any time in your device's settings.

3. Feedback Form & Email Collection

If you voluntarily use our in-app feedback form, the app will transmit your message along with basic diagnostic data (your set username, app language, and OS platform) to our email system. You may optionally include your email address so we can reply and assist you; if you provide it, we receive and store it for as long as is needed to handle your request. This data is used exclusively for support. Feedback is delivered through Formspree (Formspree, Inc., United States), which acts as a processor and forwards the message to our support mailbox. You can request the deletion of your feedback history at any time by contacting us.

4. Analytics & App Stores

We do not use invasive third-party trackers (like Facebook SDK). We only have access to standard, anonymous crash reports and download statistics provided by the Apple App Store and Google Play Store if you opted into sharing analytics with them.

5. Links to Other Websites

Defterix contains a link to our own website, knippixlabs.com. If you follow it you leave the app, and the page you land on is governed by that website's own privacy policy rather than this one. We are not responsible for the content or the privacy practices of any external website. Opening the link does not transmit any of your loan data.

6. Children's Privacy

Defterix is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children.

7. Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We encourage users to check this page periodically for any changes. Your continued use of the app after changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
